Bad news for Manchester City and England football team, defender Micah Richards is out of the season because of calf injury. Though, this will not affect Manchester City as such because they are already safe in English Premier League but England football team will surely miss him in the crucial tie against Estonia in Euro 2008 qualifier.
Richards is suffering from compartment syndrome, which generally affects the muscles in lower parts of the leg. He has not played any active football since coming on as a substitute in England’s 0-0 qualifying draw in Israel on March 24. With defender Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville also struggling with injury, England manager Steve McClaren will run short of option in the defense.
England’s Euro 2008 qualifying is hanging in balance after dismal performance by the team in the last four matches where they only manage to garner five points. England is currently in fourth position in Group E.
